DAWN (Disabled And Working Network)
The DAWN Project supports and assists people with a health issue or a disability, looking at learning opportunities or work options.
Our team consists of Learning and Work Advisers, job coaches and mentors.
We work alongside employers and in partnership with other organisations to provide the best opportunities for each individual.
We aim to accommodate each individual’s needs and can arrange one to one appointments and external visits as necessary.
We can provide free information, advice and support with:
- Producing a CV, writing applications, job searching and interview techniques
- Finding courses and looking into what support may be available
- Looking for voluntary, part time or full time work
- How working might affect your benefits and impact on your income.
M-Power
M-Power is a project to encourage younger people (16-25) into work through more non-traditional methods, as well as assisting with job search and training opportunities.
Our aims and objectives are not purely to help people reach their work and learning goals but to become more confident as individuals.
If you are between 16 – 25 years old and would like help finding work, come along to M-Power’s job search support.
Helping you locate and apply for jobs in and around York, or further afield. With all the resources at our fingertips and the M-Power workers on hand, we’ll try to get you sorted with suitable and meaningful employment.
CELL Project (Carers Employment and Lifelong Learning)

Cornerstone
Project
Is a service offered by Future Prospects which
works mainly with homeless people and other marginalised
groups to build confidence and self-esteem through advice and informal workshops.
We work in partnership with the Salvation Army Intervention and Prevention Team, Solid Foundations, Baseline, Arc Light Hostel, Peasholme Resettlement Centre and CRI (Crime Reduction Initiative).
The partnership works together to provide skills development opportunities for homeless people and the Future Prospects team now focuses more on the initial prevention work and final resettlement process - supporting people into training and to find sustainable employment.
We have various projects constantly starting at Future
